    Accountability:
    • Personal Takeover: The Path to Accountability

    • Overview

“More than ever before, we seem to be at the mercy of forces beyond our control. Downsizing, restructuring, e-business changes, and volatile economic climates—these factors foster the illusion that we don’t have much to say about our job choices, performance and career paths. People today feel they are professionally adrift—and many are.”

      Gary Gabel, Ed.D.

      Personal Takeover

In his book, Personal Takeover, Dr. Gary Gabel, helps his readers launch “personal takeovers”, and regain control (or gain even greater control) over their personal and professional lives. This workshop will accelerate that process for the benefit of the participant and the organization.

Personal Takeover requires being fully and personally accountable for our own thoughts and actions. In this workshop, Personal Takeover: The Path to Accountability, participants will travel down this path. This journey does not imply that they have been avoiding accountability (though some may have), but that our own thinking can sidetrack us from this path.

Participants will face a series of “milestone” activities that will challenge their thinking and test their assumptions. By seriously approaching these activities and applying them to their own lives, the rewards can be tremendous—both in terms of career satisfaction and personal satisfaction. While accountability is not the end-goal in itself, if we stay off the dead-end sidetracks and pass all the milestones, the path to accountability leads to the road to success.
    • Personal Takeover: Fostering Accountability

    • This four-hour workshop will enable managers to:

      • Create an environment that both expects and supports personal accountability.
      • Coach employees to demonstrate personal accountability.

The workshop is created specifically for managers who have already attended the workshop Personal Takeover: The Path to Accountability. This prerequisite is imperative to ensure that managers themselves demonstrate personal accountability before coaching employees on how to do the same. (The old adage of “Do as I say, not as I do” just doesn’t work when it comes to accountability.)

Personal Takeover: Fostering Accountability will provide managers with knowledge and skills to coach their employees to get off or avoid the six sidetracks covered in the workshop Personal Takeover: The Path to Accountability. (See course description for further background information.)

This manager workshop does not presume that employees have taken Personal Takeover: The Path to Accountability. However, the use of both courses in combination greatly accelerates accountability within the manager’s work group.

      Personal Takeover: Fostering Accountability provides:

      • Tools to assess each member of the work group.
      • Specific techniques for coaching employees to engage in their own personal takeover.
      • A selection tool to identify candidates with personal takeover traits.
